Alki Adventures Overview
First Impressions
When I first pulled up to Alki Adventures in West Seattle, I’ll be honest — it doesn’t look like your typical hotel from the outside. This four-star spot has more of a boutique adventure lodge vibe, which actually makes perfect sense once you realize where you are. The whole property feels purposefully designed for people who want to explore the Pacific Northwest, not just crash in another generic hotel room. It’s the kind of place that immediately signals you’re in for something different.
The West Seattle Advantage
Here’s what I love about this location — you’re technically still in Seattle, but it feels like you’ve escaped to somewhere completely different. Alki Beach is literally right there, and I mean you can walk to the sand in about two minutes. The views across Elliott Bay toward downtown Seattle are honestly spectacular, especially at sunset. You get that perfect postcard shot of the city skyline without dealing with all the downtown chaos and traffic. It’s the best of both worlds in one location.
The Room Experience
My room was surprisingly spacious and had this whole Pacific Northwest aesthetic going on — lots of natural wood, cozy textures, and windows that actually open. The bed was comfortable enough that I didn’t want to get up for my morning beach walk, and the bathroom had one of those rainfall showers that made me feel like I was at a proper retreat. What really impressed me was how quiet everything was, considering you’re still technically in a major city. The attention to detail throughout was exceptional.
Adventure Base Camp
The staff here really knows their stuff when it comes to local adventures — they’re not just handing you generic tourist brochures. I got insider tips on the best kayak launch spots, hiking trails that most visitors miss, and even where to catch the ferry for island hopping. There’s bike rentals right on-site, and the parking situation is actually manageable, which is saying something for Seattle. The little gear shop in the lobby has quality stuff too, not just overpriced tourist trinkets. Everything is designed to support your exploration.
Why Guests Love It
I can see why couples rate this place so highly — there’s something romantic about having the beach right there while still being close enough to hit Pike Place Market or catch a Mariners game. The whole vibe encourages you to slow down and actually enjoy each other’s company instead of rushing from one tourist trap to the next. Plus, that 9.0 location rating makes total sense when you experience how easy it is to get around from here, whether you’re heading into downtown Seattle or exploring the more natural side of the area. It’s one of those places where you feel like you discovered something special that most tourists completely miss. This hotel truly delivers on its promise.

Location, location, location! Right in Alki Beach, and within walking distance of all the fun. The house and beds where comfotable and spacious.
What could be improved: The listed hot tub and BBQ didn't work. The couches are worn. The kitched is stocked full of items that are mismatched and unuseable. They don't allow early check in and charge extra for late check out but our cleaning lady ran late and we couldn't get in until after 5pm.Sarina from United States – 3 September 2024 (5/10)
It was next to the beach, but even this was a disappointment, because they have concreted that area so much it has taken away from the natural beauty.
What could be improved: They false advertise, “This holiday home's standout features are the hot tub and fireplace.” Neither of which you are allowed to use. There was mildew in the showers, no air conditioner and the house was warm and muggy, some of the floor fans didn’t work, they have a fake leather couch that is worn and dirty, and they have no warning that there are so many stairs to get around the house, so if you have any kind of stair restriction you will have a very difficult time.
Also we tried for a month to add a day, which they denied, saying it was booked. It wasn’t, we went there around 1 on the day of our stay to try and leave one of our cars since we were headed to see Metallica, they denied us leaving the car, even though no one was there and hadn’t been there, because there was a giant spider web and spider covering the walk way to the door. So no one could have stayed the night before and no one was there cleaning. They refused to allow early check in of any kind which was very inconvenient.Dariusz from Poland – 29 August 2024 (9/10)
The house is located in a wonderful and peaceful area, close to the beach, bay, and restaurants. It is well connected to the center of Seattle, yet still offers the chance to relax in a quiet and secluded setting. Additionally, the house is very comfortable and fully equipped. You can grill, make pancakes, or even bake a cake if you wish. It has all the necessary amenities, so we felt right at home throughout our stay. I can fully and honestly recommend Alki Beach.

La ubicación
What could be improved: La limpieza había cabellos en los baños así como en las sábanas además de que el agua en la ducha se acumulaba en dos bañosJoni from United States – 4 August 2022 (9/10)
