Arctic Club Hotel Overview
First Impressions
Walking into the Arctic Club Hotel, you immediately notice this isn’t your typical downtown hotel. The building itself has wonderful historic character — it’s actually a beautifully restored 1916 landmark with amazing terra cotta walrus heads peering down from the facade. The lobby feels intimate and sophisticated without being stuffy, which sets the tone for the entire experience. This four-star property combines architectural significance with modern hospitality in a way that few hotels manage to achieve. The attention to detail throughout the property reflects decades of careful preservation and thoughtful modernization.
Location & Getting Around
You really can’t beat being right on 3rd Avenue in Seattle‘s Central Business District. Pike Place Market is literally a five-minute walk, and you’re close enough to the waterfront that you can easily stroll down to the ferry terminal or catch a Seahawks game. While you’re in the thick of things, the hotel manages to feel like a quiet retreat. The fact that they offer private parking is a significant advantage — anyone who’s tried to park downtown knows what a relief that is. The proximity to major attractions and business centers makes this an ideal base for both leisure and corporate travelers.
The Room Experience
The rooms here strike that perfect balance between historic charm and modern comfort. Each room feels thoughtfully designed rather than cookie-cutter corporate, with rich fabrics and warm lighting that makes you want to spend time there. The bathrooms are particularly well done — spacious with good water pressure, which matters after a long day of exploring. The windows are large enough that you get genuine natural light, something surprisingly rare in downtown hotels. Guests consistently praise the quality of sleep they experience here, thanks to excellent soundproofing and premium bedding.
Dining & Amenities
The Juno restaurant downstairs serves solid Pacific Northwest cuisine, and it’s genuinely convenient when you don’t feel like venturing out on a rainy Seattle evening. The bar area has a cozy, clubby atmosphere that works well for both business meetings and casual drinks. While this property doesn’t have a full spa, they do offer fitness facilities that are perfectly adequate for maintaining your routine while traveling. The combination of dining and wellness options makes it easy to relax without leaving the building. Additional amenities include 24-hour room service and concierge assistance.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets this place apart is how it manages to feel both historic and contemporary without trying too hard at either. The staff genuinely seems to care about your experience — they’re knowledgeable about the neighborhood and happy to point you toward the perfect coffee shop or help you plan Seattle adventures. Couples particularly appreciate the romantic atmosphere and walkable location, which makes sense given how easy it is to explore the city’s best spots on foot from here. The Arctic Club Hotel represents a rare combination of character, location, and service that creates memorable experiences for every type of traveler.

Breakfast is excellent. The view from the room was the worst. I stayed in a room with a street view on a former trip which was better. The food service for meals other than the breakfast could be a lot better, I did not like that a 20% tip was included when the waitress did not deserve it. The hotel is wonderful otherwise and I really enjoyed my stay.
What could be improved: Food service outside of breakfast was not great. When it’s cold and wet outside and I don’t want to walk around with a whole bunch of street people, food service in the facility is a plus. I’ve visited the hotel twice and both times I would say that food service was a weak point.Nicholas from United Kingdom – 19 March 2025 (9/10)
If you wnat a break from the normal boring chain hotels stay here. It is a touch of class and elegance in Seattle.
