Best Western Plus Pioneer Square Hotel Downtown Overview
First Impressions
Walking into the Best Western Plus Pioneer Square Hotel Downtown, you immediately get that classic Seattle vibe — it’s got this perfect blend of historic charm and modern comfort that actually works. The lobby feels welcoming without being stuffy, and honestly, the staff seems genuinely happy to see you. This three-star property sits right in the heart of Pioneer Square, and I mean right in the thick of things — you can practically feel the energy of Seattle buzzing around you the moment you step outside.
Location That Actually Matters
Here’s the thing about staying in Pioneer Square — you’re literally in Seattle’s birthplace, surrounded by cobblestone streets and turn-of-the-century architecture. The hotel’s location score of 9.1 isn’t just a number; when you walk out the front door, you’re steps away from the waterfront, Pike Place Market is an easy stroll, and the ferry terminal is right there if you want to hop over to the islands. I’ve noticed couples especially love this spot (they rate it 9.0), probably because there’s something romantic about wandering these historic streets together, ducking into little galleries or grabbing coffee at one of the neighborhood’s cozy spots.
The Room Experience
You know what surprised me most? The beds are genuinely comfortable — like, sink-into-them-after-a-long-day-of-exploring comfortable. The hotel gets high marks for this, and after spending a night there, I totally get why. The room itself is clean and well-appointed without any unnecessary frills, which honestly feels refreshing. You’ve got everything you need: decent Wi-Fi, a workspace if you’re traveling for business, and windows that actually open (a small thing, but it matters when you want that fresh Seattle air).
Morning Fuel
The continental breakfast is — well, it’s continental breakfast, but it’s done right. Nothing fancy, just solid options to get you going before you head out to explore the city. I actually appreciated that they keep it simple rather than trying to be something they’re not. Plus, there are so many great breakfast spots within walking distance that you might find yourself venturing out anyway — Cafe Umbria is just around the corner, and their espresso is the real deal.
Why Guests Love It
This place works because it knows what it is and does it well. You’re not paying for marble lobbies or rooftop pools — you’re paying for a comfortable, well-located base camp in one of Seattle’s most interesting neighborhoods. The combination of that excellent location, genuinely comfortable accommodations, and reasonable rates makes it a smart choice, especially if you want to actually experience Seattle rather than just stay in a hotel bubble. When couples are rating the location 9.0 and guests consistently praise the comfort level, that tells you something real about what you’ll find here.
Best hotels in Seattle blend rooftop fire pits, craft beer tastings, and chef-led shellfish boils.

Nicola from United Kingdom – 12 April 2025 (8/10)
They provided us with a free upgrade upon check in. We had just landed so a comfy bed was needed. The breakfast offered good selection. The staff were very friendly. Close to the train station and tram from the airport.
What could be improved: Bit of a sketchy area of town
The hotel is dated and for that reason could be a little cheaper.Alicja from Finland – 10 April 2025 (8/10)
Great location, at the seafront. Lots of nice restaurants and cafes in the neighbourhood. Bed was super comfortable.

Great location close to transit and Amtrak, which is how we arrived and got around Seattle. Perfect.
Loved the old building. Continental breakfast was a decent selection. Fruit, yogurt, milk, juice, granola, hot egg sandwiches, cereal, waffle maker.
What could be improved: My only complaint was the bedding wasn’t warm enough. Had to crank the heat but it was a unit built into the wall, like an older a/c unit and it was really loud every time it came on all night. Didn’t get the heat around the room as it was an L-shaped room, and it was in the opposite L from the bed. Top blanket and under blanket were summer style.Patricia from Canada – 20 March 2025 (9/10)
Great place and I had a lovely room , so spacious ! I had written to ask for an extra blanket to put on my bed for ‘weight’ and they had 2 in the room waiting for me . Enjoyed a blissful sleep .
It was easy distance – I walked in the rain -from the Washington State ferry at Colman Dock ..
Wonderful breakfast ….many thanks !
What could be improved: It was a bit difficult to find at first , 4 pm + as I looked down the street ( towards the water ) and the area looked a bit dodgy . I had neglected to find a good photo of the place , so didn’t recognize the brick building at the bottom of the street ( I later , saw the neon sign ) . I had wandered a little down the street but then decided that it was incorrect, so walked in the wrong direction and was really soaked in the rain…. 😱Jacqueline from Germany – 15 March 2025 (8/10)
