What could be improved: Elevator broken

Location, location, location! It was perfect for what we wanted to see in our short time in Seattle. Everything was clean and as pictured. The owner even worked with us and let us get in early so we could freshen up and head out on the town, because we were two hours early. This place was very cute and everything was perfect for our family of 3. You will not regret staying here. We literally walked everywhere. I felt very secure in the area and the apartment.
What could be improved: The only thing that was different for us was no air conditioning. We did use the air tower and our son used a fan in the living room. The breeze from the open windows was actually plenty. There are a few cosmetic things in the bathroom that could use some attention, however we didn’t care.Weaver from United States – 5 June 2024 (9/10)
The decor and facilities were lovely. Comfy and fun.
What could be improved: Lots of street noise. Key code didn’t work in the First Ave entrance. Hard to find rooftop. Couldn’t connect to wifi.Klunz from United States – 10 December 2024 (8/10)
Great location and lots of space for a small place
What could be improved: No coffee even though description and message from host suggested there would be coffee. When we asked about it, we received no response at all.
Also, the description and the host message suggested there would be Internet. While there was Internet, it did not work. Again, when we contacted the host regarding this concern, we received no response at all.
Because you are right in the heart of the city, it is a bit noisy with all the garbage trucks early in the morning.Alexandra from United States – 11 September 2024 (8/10)
Apartment is just like photos- very cute, clean, and spacious for two. Great location near fun downtown area! Nice to have a king bed. Good shower water pressure.
What could be improved: Loudest apartment I’ve ever slept in. Definitely bring your earplugs! I expected city noise given the location but there were trucks picking up garbage/beeping, people yelling, and construction banging sounds throughout quite literally the entire night into the morning. A tiny swamp cooler AC in unit was also a bit rough given it was in the high 80’s.Sandra from Ireland – 8 September 2024 (8/10)
Central location.
What could be improved: Poor air conditioner. Noise from delivery trucks. Lift broken.Andrew from Australia – 15 November 2024 (1/10)
The daytime, when it was quieter in the condo than at night.
What could be improved: Two reasons not to stay at this “Charming condo”.
Had arrived around 4 pm on the first night of a 4-night stay. Followed the instructions and let ourselves in. Found the condo had not been serviced – bedroom a mess, kitchen filled with dirty dishes and soiled towels on the bathroom floor.
Our host Andrew eventually responded to our phone calls, apologised, and explained his cleaner had not been able to attend.
Said he would refund the first night and our cleaning fee as compensation. We offered to walk around Seattle for an hour while he tried to find a cleaner (on a Sunday night) but said we would then have to book alternative accommodation which we subsequently did.
The condo was cleaned sometime but Andrew didn’t tell us this – we contacted him the next morning, found it was clean and moved in a day late.
In the weeks following our stay we have tried to contact Andrew multiple times about our promised refund, including messaging him through Booking.com. Andrew won’t respond.
So, we have still not been refunded for the night we could not stay at Andrew’s condo and seem to have no means now of getting a refund from Andrew.
After telling Booking.com customer service our story, they also tried to contact Andrew, but he won’t respond to them either.
Condo itself, as other guest reviews have observed, is noisy, stuffy and needs maintenance.
Unending noise will keep you awake through the night from the revving and reversing alarms of delivery vans and garbage trucks in the alley outside the bedroom.
Not to mention the street lighting coming in through the curtainless windows.
The better option, in hindsight, would have been to stay in a quiet suburb and catch a bus or train downtown for sightseeing. Don’t stay at Andrew’s condo unless you are prepared to be inconvenienced, misled and to sleep less in Seattle.Atima from United States – 14 July 2024 (8/10)
