The Gorgeous 1 Bedroom Space caught me off guard in the best possible way — honestly, I wasn’t expecting much from a three-star place, but this spot really delivers. Located in Seattle‘s Ballard neighborhood, it sits in one of those quietly cool areas that locals love but tourists are just starting to discover. The building itself has that Pacific Northwest charm without trying too hard, and you know what? Sometimes that’s exactly what you want after a long day of exploring the city.

The Space Itself

Walking into the room, I was struck by how thoughtfully everything was arranged — there’s actually space to breathe, which is rare in Seattle accommodations. The bedroom feels genuinely comfortable, not just functional, and the layout makes sense in a way that shows someone really thought about how people actually live. The kitchen area is compact but well-equipped, perfect for brewing morning coffee or heating up leftovers from Pike Place Market. I mean, after spending $20 on chowder, you’ll want to stretch those food dollars somehow.

Location Perks

Here’s where this place really shines — the location scores are through the roof for good reason. You’re walking distance to some of Ballard’s best breweries (and trust me, there are many), plus the Sunday farmers market that locals actually shop at. The parking situation is honestly a game-changer in Seattle, where finding a spot usually involves circling blocks and paying through the nose. Having free on-site parking means you can actually explore neighborhoods like Fremont or Capitol Hill without the usual Seattle parking anxiety.

Neighborhood Character

What I love about staying here is that you’re in a real neighborhood, not some tourist bubble. There’s a solid coffee shop two blocks away where baristas remember regulars’ orders, and the evening walk to the waterfront gives you those classic Seattle sunset views over Puget Sound. The area feels safe and walkable — couples especially seem to appreciate the romantic evening strolls along the ship canal. You’re close enough to downtown for easy access, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the Pike Place crowds every time you step outside.

The 8.9 rating makes perfect sense once you’ve stayed here — it’s one of those places that exceeds expectations without breaking the bank. The combination of actual space, smart location, and those little touches (like decent water pressure and blackout curtains that actually work) adds up to something special.   The kitchen is designed for tall people – loved it! Color scheme of the bathroom and bedroom are great.
  The bathtub is enormous – two people (180 and 170 cm high) fit comfortably together. The showerhead has the temperature display – a pleasant surprise. There is a window in a bathroom – very nice to have a natural light and fresh air.
  All windows have a mosquito net and the blinds are almost blackout. The neighborhood is really quiet – you'll catch up on some quality sleep.
  There are basic things in the kitchen – coffee, tea, sugar, milk – pleasant way to start your morning.
  A lot of board games, I even introduced my wife to the Dominion.
  Basic necessities were provided – makeup removal wipes, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, soap (hand and dish), bath bombs. The hairdryer is small but really powerful. Towels are very absorbing and heavy – real fancy hotel feel. The long carpet also adds to the hotel vibe.
  Close to the Zoo – we enjoyed our visit very much and ended up buying a full size Red Panda plush <3 If you buy tickets online 3-4 prior they are cheaper 😉
  
  What could be improved: The bed is about 170 cm long, so if you're high your feet would be dangling. The mattress is VERY soft – if you usually sleep on a hard mattress (and/or higher than 170 cm) you might want to sleep on the carpet or yoga matt 😀
  Apparently fire alarm goes off if you're taking a long (10+ min) hot shower (even with the vent on and window open).
  You need to get through the restroom in order to get to the kitchen, so if somebody occupied the shower or using a toilet you won't be able to make yourself a cup of tea or heat the food up or wash your hands. Minor inconvenience, but worth mentioning.
  house is located in hills area. If you don't have endurance – use a car.
  Cold floors – if you are constantly cold bring slippers. There are large carpets in the living room and the bedroom, however there is no bath matt in front of the toilet. If you have no slippers you will need to constantly move the long carpet choosing between the bathtub and the toilet to keep your feet warm. The kitchen is also tiled and cold.

  Wonderful to meet you. Your location was walkable to the family member we were visiting, so was the perfect location. There was always space to park in front. Thank you for providing coffee & thoughtful touches.
