Graduate by Hilton Seattle Overview

First Impressions

Walking into Graduate by Hilton Seattle, you immediately get that this isn’t your typical chain hotel. The lobby has this collegiate vibe that actually works — think modern university meets Pacific Northwest charm, without being too theme-park about it. It’s a four-star property that sits right in the University District, and honestly, the energy here is pretty infectious. You’ve got students rushing by outside, but inside it feels polished and grown-up. The design philosophy extends throughout the property, creating spaces that feel both welcoming and sophisticated.

Location & Neighborhood

The University District location is actually brilliant if you know Seattle at all. You’re literally steps from the University of Washington campus, which means great coffee shops, bookstores, and that whole academic atmosphere. But here’s what I really love — you can walk to the Burke-Gilman Trail for morning runs, and getting downtown is super easy via the light rail. The couples who stay here seem to get it — there’s something romantic about wandering through the tree-lined streets, especially in fall when the campus is gorgeous. The neighborhood truly captures the essence of this vibrant Pacific Northwest city.

The Room Experience

My room had floor-to-ceiling windows that let in tons of natural light, which you don’t always get in Seattle hotels. The design leans into that university theme with vintage-inspired touches, but it’s done tastefully — no cheesy pennants or anything like that. The beds are seriously comfortable, and I mean that. You know how some hotels have beds that look great but feel mediocre? Not here. The bathrooms are modern and spacious, with good water pressure and premium amenities that make a real difference.

Practical Perks

The breakfast-to-go situation is actually pretty smart — you can grab something decent without sitting in a crowded dining room, which works whether you’re heading to campus or exploring the city. There’s also private parking on-site, which honestly saves you a huge headache in this neighborhood. Street parking around the U-District can be a nightmare, especially during the school year. The staff seems to really know their stuff about local recommendations too, which I always appreciate. Their insider knowledge helps guests discover authentic Seattle experiences.

Why Guests Love It

What strikes me most is how this place manages to feel both lively and peaceful. You’re in the heart of a college neighborhood, so there’s always something happening, but the hotel itself is a calm retreat from all that energy. The recent guests aren’t wrong about the location — it really is special. You can walk to amazing Thai food on “The Ave,” catch a Huskies game, or just sit in one of the nearby coffee shops and people-watch. It’s one of those places where you feel connected to the real Seattle, not just the tourist version. This hotel truly embodies the spirit of the University District.

Seattle apartments welcome families with game rooms, bike storage, and weekend trips to Woodland Park Zoo.

Reviews of Graduate by Hilton Seattle

  • Tupy from United States – 4 May 2025 (8/10)

Location and eclectic vibe. Fantastic roof top bar!

What could be improved: Couldn’t control room temp. Only one very small mirror over sink in bathroom without “vanity” make up area.

    Room needs a 2nd mirror.

Safety…the mounted slide bar for the shower head fell off the wall…just missing hitting my body. My husband was able to put it back in place though not sure it was secured well. I did mention this upon checking out. Hopefully it was Really secured for the next guest.

  • Kdnorris from United States – 18 April 2025 (8/10)

This is a return visit for us. We love the hotel vibe, the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, the delicious coffee in the attached coffee shop, the comfy beds and attractive, comfortable decor. It is very close to family and makes for an easy and comfortable stay. Our Honors membership doesn’t seem to be a subject of discussion here.

What could be improved: We prepaid our reservation, but received an emailed folio invoice following our departure that reflected extra charges for the prepaid taxes. Several inquiries later, we were told that the charges had been reversed. It seems like, if it’s worth sending an email with charges, it is worth sending an email with credits as reassurance.

  • Yu-feng from Taiwan – 15 April 2025 (8/10)

comfortable, close to light rail station

What could be improved: a little bit expensive

  • Melissa from United States – 7 April 2025 (9/10)

What could be improved: The elevator was having some issues, and I was a little disappointed there was no mini fridge or microwave.

  • Cresta from United States – 28 January 2025 (8/10)

    Really close to everything

What could be improved: We moved everything except the extra valet fees.

  • Piper from United States – 23 November 2024 (9/10)

Location is near our granddaughter at UW and the light rail stop. So we stay here to visit her. Love the vintage decor.
Coffee shop and bar are convenient.

What could be improved: One elevator was broken, so waiting for the one working and crowded elevator was a big inconvenience.

  • Jenny from United States – 12 November 2024 (7/10)

Great location. It was near a lot of places and walking distance to the Link.

What could be improved: We could hear the guest above us through the vent. They had a long argument with someone and we got to hear all of it.

  • Robert from Spain – 19 September 2024 (9/10)

Good size cOmfortable room, friendly staff and good public transport connections.

  • Eric from United States – 3 September 2024 (9/10)

Great Location. Close to town center and only a few minutes from Pike Place Market. Had a great view and comfortable seating. Staff was helpful as well

What could be improved: Valet Parking is expensive; their are places to park within the area but is fairly limited

  • Andrea from United States – 25 August 2024 (8/10)

We were sad because we booked here for the rooftop and it was closed for a private event but other than that the stay was great. Lots of hot water in the shower, beautiful view, full size pillows, and a really cool coffee/wine shop downstairs. The staff were incredibly accommodating and great!

What could be improved: Parking is expensive and no pool or hottub. I wish they would email prior if the rooftop bar is is going to be closed or reduce the rate if that happens. No mini fridge but there is a water heater.
