Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Seattle/Northgate Overview
First Impressions
The Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Seattle/Northgate sits right in the heart of Northgate, and honestly, it’s one of those places that just gets the basics really right. This three-star hotel doesn’t try to be fancy, but what it does — clean rooms, solid service, and a genuinely useful location — it does well. You know what struck me most? The staff actually seems to care about making your stay work, which isn’t always a given at mid-range hotels.
Location & Getting Around
Being in Seattle’s Northgate area is actually pretty smart if you’re not dead-set on staying downtown. The light rail station is close enough that you can zip into the city center without dealing with traffic or crazy parking fees. I mean, couples seem to really love this spot — they’re rating the location an 8.4, which makes sense when you realize you’re getting easy access to both the city and some great neighborhoods without the downtown price tag. Plus, there’s decent shopping and restaurants within walking distance, so you’re not stuck if you don’t want to venture far.
The Room Experience
Here’s where this place really shines — the beds are legitimately comfortable. I’m talking about the kind of sleep where you actually wake up refreshed, not with that weird hotel back ache. The room itself is what you’d expect from Hampton Inn: clean, functional, with enough space to spread out a bit. The suites give you some extra breathing room if you’re staying more than a night or two, and honestly, for the price point, you’re getting solid value without any unpleasant surprises.
Breakfast & Dining
The breakfast setup here is actually worth getting up for — they do this continental and American buffet thing that covers most bases. You’ve got your standard hotel breakfast items, but also some heartier options that’ll fuel you for a day of exploring Seattle. It’s not gourmet, but it’s fresh and there’s enough variety that you won’t get bored if you’re staying several days. The restaurant area gets busy around 8 AM, so if you’re an early riser, you’ll have more space to yourself.
Why Guests Love It
What really works about this place is that it delivers on its promises without any drama. Recent guests are rating it 8.6 for location, which tells you something — people are finding it genuinely useful for getting around and doing what they came to Seattle to do. The combination of those comfortable beds, reliable service, and smart positioning in Northgate creates this sweet spot where you’re getting good value without feeling like you’re roughing it. It’s the kind of place where everything just works the way it should, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need when you’re traveling.
Savvy travelers reserve a hotel in Seattle before winter light festivals glow through Pioneer Square.

Large comfortable room and bathroom.
What could be improved: The breakfast was okay but not particularly to my liking.Melinda from United States – 2 April 2025 (9/10)
It was a convenient location for us and the breakfast is always such a big plus.
Carina from United States – 30 March 2025 (7/10)
Really clean and comfortable
What could be improved: Didn’t get notify in a timely manner about the pool situation which was one of the main reasons why we choose the hotel besides that everything else was perfect. A heads up if the pool will be completely would be good to make other plans.Cori from United States – 3 February 2025 (8/10)
Location was close to the destination we were visiting Seattle for… price was good and we likes that breakfast was included.
What could be improved: A lot of construction in the area; was hard to explore nearby places. Had to wait for room to be ready when we arrived – not long and staff was great but it threw our plans off. No hair dryer and wasn’t sure if there was an exhaust vent in bathroom.Deeann from United States – 20 January 2025 (9/10)
Location, breakfast , comfort
What could be improved: No water refill station available for water bottles. Instead they hand out bottled water at checkin and you have to buy any additional water.Sandra from United States – 16 January 2025 (8/10)
It was close to the hospital my husband had surgery and that’s why we were there
Richard from United States – 12 January 2025 (9/10)
Your ‘examples’ are my answer. Also, include desk staff. Nancy was friendly and helpful from time of checkin.
What could be improved: The mattress in my room was way too soft for me. I prefer ‘harder’ mattress. Minor ‘complaint’.Dianne from United States – 7 January 2025 (8/10)
Upgrade to bigger room. Shower liquids. Open sitting areas. Coffee is good, like that you have real 1/2 and 1/2
What could be improved: The eggs in any scrambled egg dishes were terrible.
