Hyatt at Olive 8 Overview
First Impressions
Walking into the Hyatt at Olive 8 feels like stepping into Seattle’s modern heartbeat — and I mean that in the best way possible. This four-star property sits right on 8th Avenue in the Central Business District, which honestly couldn’t be more perfect if you’re trying to get the full Seattle experience without constantly hopping in cars or dealing with transit headaches. The lobby has this sleek, contemporary vibe that doesn’t try too hard to be trendy, you know? It’s polished but not intimidating.
The Location Sweet Spot
Here’s what I love about this spot — you’re literally in the thick of everything that matters downtown. Pike Place Market is just a few blocks away, which means you can grab fresh coffee and those famous fish throws without planning your whole morning around it. The waterfront’s close enough for evening strolls, and if you’re into the arts scene, you’ve got easy access to the theater district. What really surprised me is how couples seem to gravitate toward this area — apparently they rate the location super highly for romantic getaways, and I can see why with all those harbor views just minutes away.
Sleep Quality That Actually Delivers
Let me tell you about the beds here because this is where the Hyatt really shines. I’m usually pretty skeptical when hotels boast about their mattresses, but these are legitimately comfortable — the kind where you actually sleep through the night instead of tossing around. The room setup is smart too, with blackout curtains that actually block light (rare in downtown hotels) and climate control that doesn’t sound like a jet engine. The bathrooms are spacious with good water pressure, which honestly matters more than most people admit when you’re exploring a city all day.
Practical Perks
One thing that sets this place apart is the parking situation — they actually have private parking on-site, which is basically gold in downtown Seattle. I mean, street parking around here is either impossible or expensive, so having that security is worth the peace of mind alone. The hotel also has this eco-friendly angle that doesn’t feel forced or preachy — they’ve got LEED certification and little touches like energy-efficient everything, but it’s integrated naturally rather than being the main selling point.
Why Guests Love It
What keeps people coming back here isn’t just one standout feature — it’s how everything works together smoothly. You’re close enough to walk to most attractions but far enough from the tourist chaos to actually relax. The staff knows the neighborhood well and can point you toward local spots that aren’t just the obvious tourist traps. Plus, there’s something to be said for staying somewhere that business travelers choose regularly — it usually means the WiFi works, the service is reliable, and the little details are handled properly. It’s that sweet spot between boutique charm and dependable comfort that’s honestly pretty hard to find in this price range.
Hotels in Seattle ring Pike Place alleyways, techy waterfronts, and coffee-scented lanes.

What could be improved: There wasn’t anything to dislike honestly.Heather from Canada – 19 April 2025 (9/10)
Room was fantastic and comfortable: pool + sauna were excellent. Service was top notch. I had a good sleep with high quality linens + pillows, and enjoyed the high end toiletries.
What could be improved: I will return.Kimberly from United States – 14 April 2025 (9/10)
Everything was great, parking was not the easiest and the pool gets busy, but other than that it was a wonderful stay!
Hendrik from Spain – 12 April 2025 (9/10)
The room was spacious and the bed excellent, small refridgerator, coffee/tea maker in the room, free water refill stations at each floor, but what made the stay super was the pool, some 20 meters long open from 5.30 in the morning, very convenient! The hotel is 15 min walk from the seafront promenade and 5 min walk from the convention center, overal a good location.
What could be improved: The only thing that could be improved, would be if the fixed shower head was acompanied by a movable one, also water pressure was not very high.Michael from United States – 29 March 2025 (9/10)
The children 10 and 7 enjoyed being in the 15th floor. The view according to them was amazing. They loved the pool, hot tub and the restaurant. We all enjoyed the stay even though parking was $59 a night. We took yellow cabs everywhere, It was better than driving around looking for a parking spot. An exciting adventure for my grandsons. We visited the space needle and the Chihuly gardens, both were amazing.
Jonathon from Australia – 26 March 2025 (9/10)
I liked the clean rooms and the friendly staff
Alyssa from United States – 11 March 2025 (9/10)
Loved the refillable water stations and the ability to cast from the phone to the tv!
Maria from United States – 10 March 2025 (8/10)
Convenient to comic con as well as nice restaurants. The bed was comfortable really enjoyed the walk-in shower.
The security of the building. Because somehow we left our room door ajar.
What could be improved: There was no hand held wand in the shower. The fact that we could hear the crying baby next-door .
