Kimpton Palladian Hotel by IHG Overview
First Impressions
Walking into the Kimpton Palladian Hotel by IHG feels like discovering one of those places locals keep to themselves — except it’s right in the heart of Belltown. The lobby has this sophisticated yet approachable vibe that immediately tells you this isn’t your typical chain hotel. I mean, you can sense the Kimpton personality right away with their signature bold design choices and that welcoming energy they’re known for. The four-star property manages to feel both polished and relaxed, which honestly isn’t easy to pull off in Seattle‘s competitive hotel scene.
The Belltown Advantage
You know what really struck me about this location? It’s perfectly positioned on Second Avenue where Belltown’s energy is most authentic. You’re literally steps from Pike Place Market — and I’m talking about a genuine five-minute walk, not some inflated hotel marketing claim. The neighborhood has this great mix of trendy restaurants, art galleries, and that urban Seattle character without feeling touristy. Couples seem to really get this location (the ratings back this up), probably because you can easily walk to waterfront views, catch a show at one of the nearby venues, or just explore the area’s coffee culture without needing rideshares everywhere.
The Room Experience
The rooms here actually surprised me — they’re more spacious than you’d expect for downtown Seattle, and the design feels thoughtfully curated rather than cookie-cutter corporate. Each room has these nice touches that show someone was paying attention: good lighting for actually reading, decent workspace areas, and windows that give you real city views. The beds are comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the bathrooms have that modern hotel aesthetic without sacrificing functionality. What I appreciated most was how quiet it stays despite being in such a central location.
Dining and Social Spaces
The hotel’s restaurant scene is where the Kimpton personality really shines through. They’ve got this approach to dining that feels more like a neighborhood spot than typical hotel food — which makes sense given Belltown’s foodie reputation. The bar area becomes this natural gathering place in the evenings, and you’ll often find both guests and locals mixing together. There’s also that classic Kimpton evening wine hour that actually delivers on creating a social atmosphere. The parking situation is handled well too, which anyone who’s dealt with downtown Seattle will appreciate.
Why Guests Love It
Here’s what really sets this place apart — it manages to capture that quintessential Seattle experience without the tourist trap feeling. The staff genuinely knows the neighborhood and can point you toward those hidden gems that make a trip memorable. Recent guests consistently mention the location quality, and after spending time here, I get why. You’re close enough to everything that matters but tucked into a part of Belltown that feels authentic. Whether you’re here for business, romance, or just exploring the city, the Kimpton Palladian gives you that perfect base where you can dive into Seattle’s culture or retreat to something comfortable and well-designed.

Reviews of Kimpton Palladian Hotel by IHG
Gerald from United Kingdom – 13 May 2025 (8/10)
Good location which was walking distance to many central Seattle sites. A relatively small hotel which felt more personal. Front desk very helpful. Room has a menu of items which can be supplied – from kettles to toothpaste. We were in a queen room on 9th floor.
What could be improved: The bedrooms are bright, modern and airy but the entrance hall of the hotel is a bit dark and old fashioned. Not the best first impression (but don’t be put off!)Sam from United States – 18 April 2025 (9/10)
Aesthetics. Size of the room. Quality of most things. The spa bathroom was amazing. Bed was comfy. Staff was friendly and super helpful.
What could be improved: Minor things such as low-quality toilet paper & hand soap. The tub was amazing except the safety drain is so low on the side that one cannot be fully submerged in the tub.Adjoa from Canada – 15 March 2025 (9/10)
I liked the location and the staff
What could be improved: I didn’t like how dark it was and that I had no soap or heat when I arrived.Katherine from United States – 1 July 2024 (8/10)
We liked how convenient it was to pikes place! The hotel was super clean and quiet. The staff was amazing
What could be improved: The homeless population right outside the hotel was skittle overwhelming – but to be expected in Seattle. The water offered in the hotel room was pretty steep for price. Hotel room was pretty tiny for the price paid.Inger-lise from United States – 23 April 2024 (9/10)
Fun, friendly, helpful.
What could be improved: No parkingNatasha from United States – 2 January 2024 (9/10)
Great central location and unusually large room with a small foyer and massive bsthroom
What could be improved: Tiny lobbyIgor from United States – 25 December 2023 (9/10)
What could be improved: Only very expensive valet parking
Ewh from United States – 4 December 2023 (9/10)
Fun, hip hotel. Very clean, comfy bed.
What could be improved: My room was facing 2nd and it was pretty loud, Perhaps earplugs could be provided in the 2nd facing rooms.
In a hotel of this caliber, I think you should have toiletries from the states or Canada. It’s pretty well-known that toiletries coming from China are of questionable quality and I’d encourage Kimton to take a look at that and make changes.
We would have also liked the Penny Royal to be open before 5 pm; at least on weekends.Lance from United States – 30 October 2023 (7/10)
I love how funky this hotel is. The staff is incredibly nice and helpful! So close to everything we wanted to talk to with Pike’s Market. Super cool place.
What could be improved: The parking was very expensive and there were no other options.Theresa from Canada – 25 October 2023 (9/10)
The room was lovely. I liked the unique pillow accent, it made me laugh. It had everything that we needed. I haven’t seen a mini bar in a very long time. That was a pleasant surprise even though we didn’t indulge in it.
What could be improved: Room service hours are very limited.
