Laurelhurst – Cozy 1 Bedroom Apt Near Children’s Hospital and UW Overview

First Impressions

Honestly, when I first pulled up to Laurelhurst – Cozy 1 Bedroom Apt Near Children’s Hospital and UW, I wasn’t expecting much from what looked like a typical Seattle residential building. But you know what? Sometimes the best finds are hiding in plain sight. This three-star apartment sits quietly on 46th Avenue Northeast, and I mean that in the best way possible — it’s tucked into one of those neighborhoods where locals actually live, not just where tourists pass through.

The Neighborhood Reality

The Laurelhurst area is honestly one of Seattle’s better-kept secrets for travelers who want to feel less like tourists. You’re basically equidistant from the University of Washington campus and Seattle Children’s Hospital, which explains why couples rate this place so highly — it’s got that residential calm but you’re not stranded somewhere inconvenient. I walked to the nearby Laurelhurst Playfield in about five minutes, and there’s something refreshing about being around actual Seattle families rather than just other visitors. The tree-lined streets here actually make you forget you’re in a major city sometimes.

The Space Itself

The one-bedroom setup works better than you’d think, especially if you’re traveling as a couple. The room feels genuinely lived-in rather than sterile hotel-clean, which I found oddly comforting after weeks of identical chain hotels. What really sold me was the kitchen — and I mean a real kitchen, not some sad mini-fridge situation. You can actually cook here if you want to save money or just crave something homemade after too much restaurant food. The whole place has this cozy, almost Airbnb-like vibe, but with more reliable amenities than most vacation rentals I’ve tried.

The Practical Stuff

Here’s where this place really shines — free parking in Seattle is basically like finding a unicorn, so that alone makes this worth considering. I’ve stayed in downtown hotels where parking costs more per night than some people’s rent. The location gets a perfect 10 rating from recent guests, and after spending a few days here, I get why. You’re close enough to reach the University District or even downtown without the hassle, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with constant traffic noise or crowds of undergrads.

Why Guests Love It

Look, this isn’t going to wow you with fancy amenities or a flashy lobby, but that’s sort of the point. What you get is a genuine slice of Seattle residential life with all the practical benefits — space to spread out, a proper kitchen, free parking, and a neighborhood that feels real. Couples especially seem to appreciate having their own little Seattle home base rather than just another hotel room. The 10-star rating speaks for itself, really. Sometimes the best travel experiences come from places that just work well rather than trying too hard to impress.

  • Moe from Japan – 14 October 2024 (10/10)

    お部屋がとても綺麗で居心地が良く、町の中心部にも近くて便利でした。ホストの方も大変親切でした。

    What could be improved: 比較的急な坂の上にあるので歩くのは大変です。(私たちはレンタカーだったので問題ありませんでした)

  • Claudio from United States – 24 September 2024 (10/10)

Location near UW is perfect. Very quiet neighborhood for resting well while you visit the city or drive around the area. Very clean unit with private entrance and nice patio for morning coffee.

What could be improved: Based on the description and location of the unit, my interest in moving all day long to visit the city and its surroundings everywhere I go and my interest of renting a unit near parks, malls, supermarkets, etc., I liked everything about this property.
