MarQueen Hotel Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to the MarQueen Hotel on Queen Anne Avenue, you immediately notice this isn’t your typical chain hotel. The building has this classic early 1900s character that actually feels authentic — not like someone tried too hard to recreate “historic charm.” I mean, you can tell this place has stories, and honestly, that’s half the appeal of staying somewhere with real personality in Seattle.
The Queen Anne Advantage
Here’s what I love about this location — you’re in Queen Anne, which means you’re close enough to everything but not stuck in the tourist chaos downtown. The Space Needle is literally a few blocks away, and you can walk to Seattle Center without breaking a sweat. But you know what’s even better? The neighborhood actually feels like where locals live and hang out. There are coffee shops that aren’t Starbucks (shocking, I know), and the whole area has this residential vibe that makes you feel less like a tourist.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in had this boutique hotel feel — not huge, but thoughtfully designed with period details that don’t feel forced. The beds are comfortable (always my main concern), and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped. What surprised me was how quiet it was, considering you’re still in the city. The windows actually block out most of the street noise, which is something I definitely didn’t expect on a busy avenue like Queen Anne.
Practical Perks
One thing that’ll save you some headache — they have parking right at the hotel. If you’ve ever tried to find parking in Seattle, you know this is basically like finding a unicorn. It’s not free, but at least you don’t have to circle blocks looking for a spot or worry about your car getting towed. The staff is pretty helpful too, not overly chatty but they know the area well enough to give you solid recommendations for dinner or coffee.
Why Guests Love It
This four-star place hits that sweet spot where you get character and comfort without paying Space Needle prices. Couples seem to really dig it here — and I can see why. It’s got that intimate, neighborhood feel that makes you want to explore together rather than just crash after a day of sightseeing. The location rating speaks for itself, honestly. You’re close to Pike Place Market when you want that full Seattle experience, but you can also just wander Queen Anne and discover places that feel more authentic. It’s the kind of hotel where you might actually want to come back, not just because it was fine, but because it felt like you discovered something a little special.
Best hotels in Seattle blend rooftop fire pits, craft beer tastings, and chef-led shellfish boils.

Great location and friendly staff. It’s a very cool building and the rooms are a good size and have been nicely renovated still complementing the age of the building.
What could be improved: The hours of Tin Lizzie’s Lounge were a little disappointing closing at 10pm on a Saturday night!Dijonnette from United States – 17 March 2025 (8/10)
We enjoyed our room, bed and shower. The staff were super friendly and lounge was beautiful, relaxing and just the right vibes to celebrate our anniversary.
What could be improved: I wish we came when they had finished their refurbishing. Going outside in the rain to get to the cafe was a bummer but no real complaints.Debra from United States – 12 March 2025 (9/10)
Loved it! Still renovating but it did not infringe on our stay at all.
What could be improved: The Booking.com site said valet parking was $30 when it was actually $40. I would not have done valet parking if Ihad known when I bookedTrina from Canada – 1 March 2025 (7/10)
Like the location and staff
What could be improved: There was a pull out couch in the room description but none in the room when arriving due to construction. Unable to accommodate us as two children had to sleep on the floor.Brian from Canada – 31 January 2025 (9/10)
Very friendly towards my dogs too! Great neighbourhood and lots if interesting restaurants all around.

Good price for what hotels go for in Seattle. Staff was very friendly. Appreciated having parking available, albeit for an additional $45.
What could be improved: Would have liked heavier covers on the bed. I became cold during the night.Dominika from Canada – 23 December 2024 (9/10)
Great location, very nice staff, huge room. The hotel is a bit dated but not in a bad way – it’s a vibe that we enjoyed. The place is undergoing renovations so it will be even better soon. The valet parking was worth the peace of mind, and we could leave the car there for a few hours after checking out, which was a nice touch.
What could be improved: The bathtub has seen some better days, and the bathroom could be updated.Christian from United States – 18 December 2024 (9/10)
History and decor.
What could be improved: Cost of parking.Jessica from United States – 30 November 2024 (7/10)
