Modern Home, Rooftop view, 3 block Beacon station Overview
First Impressions
The Modern Home, Rooftop view, 3 block Beacon station caught my attention immediately — not just because of that wonderfully specific name, but because it actually delivers on every promise. This three-star property sits on South Walker Street in a neighborhood that honestly feels more residential than touristy, which I found refreshing. You know what struck me first? The building itself has this clean, contemporary look that doesn’t try too hard to impress, but somehow does anyway.
Location & Getting Around
Being three blocks from Beacon station is genuinely useful — I mean, Seattle‘s light rail system makes getting downtown or to the airport pretty straightforward from here. The neighborhood has this authentic feel where you’ll see locals walking their dogs and grabbing coffee, not just tourists with cameras. There’s parking available (and it’s free, which in Seattle is basically like finding treasure), so if you’re driving, you won’t spend half your vacation circling blocks looking for a spot. The area feels safe for evening walks, and I noticed several couples seemed particularly comfortable here.
The Space Itself
The apartment setup works really well — it’s got that modern aesthetic the name promises without feeling sterile or cold. The kitchen is actually functional, not just decorative like some places, so you can make real meals if you want to save money or just prefer eating in. What really sets this place apart though is that rooftop view they mention. On clear days (and yes, Seattle does have them), you get these glimpses of the city that make you understand why people fall in love with this place.
What Makes It Special
The room feels more like staying in a friend’s well-designed apartment than a typical hotel. Everything’s thoughtfully arranged — good lighting, comfortable seating, and enough space that you don’t feel cramped even if you’re staying for several days. I appreciated the attention to details like decent Wi-Fi and blackout curtains that actually block light. The whole setup encourages you to settle in rather than just crash between sightseeing adventures.
Why Guests Love It
That 9.1 rating makes sense once you’ve stayed here — it’s one of those places that exceeds expectations without being flashy about it. Couples seem to gravitate toward this spot, and I can see why; there’s something intimate about the space that works well for romantic getaways. The combination of being close enough to downtown for easy access but far enough away to feel like you’re experiencing real Seattle life hits just the right balance. Plus, when you factor in the free parking and the fact that you’re getting apartment-style amenities at hotel prices, it becomes pretty clear why people keep coming back.

The condo is excellent and in a decent location. Good amenities were 3-4 blocks away and we could walk to a train station and a couple restaurants nearby easily
What could be improved: Seattle has gone downhill pretty severely since I was there last. This place is still close enough to the stadiums and things we wanted to see that it was convenient but far enough away from the dingier parts that it wasn’t a concern going for a walk in the evening to get a bite to eat.Laurie from United States – 24 July 2024 (7/10)
Very modern and clean with all amenities that would be needed present. The roof top area was very nice.
What could be improved: A lot of stairs, which I would not recommend for elderly or those with young children. It worked fine for us with kids ages 8-16. The house is over the flight path for the airport, which some may not like, but it was cool to watch from the roof and did not keep us awake.Jolyn from United States – 28 February 2024 (10/10)
It was a beautiful place and very homie
What could be improved: Just the location compared to a hotel location in Seattle, where there I can walk down or up the road for different cafes or restaurants.Justin from United States – 13 January 2024 (10/10)
Location was very convenient, and the value was excellent. My wife, toddler, and I really enjoyed our stay and felt very comfortable. Everything was labeled clearly. We felt like there was great care in the many little details that really helped to make us feel at home. Check-in was a breeze, and check-out requests were reasonable. I’d highly recommend for people visiting Seattle, especially those who are seeking a place close to a Link station with easy access to downtown.
