Staypineapple, Hotel FIVE, Downtown Seattle Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Staypineapple, Hotel FIVE, Downtown Seattle, you immediately get that this is a three-star property that punches way above its weight. The lobby has this playful, modern vibe — there’s actually pineapple motifs scattered throughout (hence the name), but it’s done tastefully, not in some cheesy tropical way. What really struck me was how the staff seemed genuinely happy to be there, which honestly sets the tone for your entire stay.
Perfect Belltown Location
You know what’s great about this spot? You’re right in the heart of Belltown, which means you can walk to Pike Place Market in about ten minutes, and the waterfront is just a few blocks away. Seattle Center and the Space Needle are totally walkable too — I mean, it’s a bit of a hike, but doable if you’re feeling energetic. The location score of 9.0 makes total sense when you realize you’re surrounded by some of the city’s best restaurants and bars, plus you’ve got easy access to both the business district and all the tourist stuff.
The Room Experience
Here’s where this place really shines — the beds are incredibly comfortable, and I’m someone who’s pretty picky about sleep quality. The room I stayed in wasn’t huge (this is downtown Seattle, after all), but it was smartly designed with everything you actually need. The windows are well-insulated, which is crucial because Belltown can get a bit noisy at night with all the nightlife. There’s also this nice touch where they provide yoga mats in every room, which I thought was a fun addition.
Practical Perks
One thing that’ll save you some headache — parking is available right at the hotel, which is honestly a godsend in this part of town. Street parking around here is basically a nightmare, and most hotels either don’t have parking or charge an arm and a leg for it. The rates aren’t cheap, but it’s way more convenient than hunting for a spot or dealing with one of those sketchy downtown lots. Plus, the front desk staff actually knows the neighborhood really well, so they can point you toward the good coffee shops and tell you which food trucks are worth trying.
Why Guests Love It
What really makes this place work is that it feels like someone actually thought about what travelers need. The 8.5 rating reflects that — it’s not trying to be fancy, but everything just works well. Couples especially seem to love it here (they rated the location 9.2), and I can see why. You’re close enough to everything that you can be spontaneous about dinner plans or decide last-minute to catch a show, but you’re also in a quiet enough spot that you can actually get some rest. It’s that sweet spot where you feel like you’re experiencing the real Seattle without sacrificing comfort.

The staff were the best! Great location.
Jose from United States – 10 May 2025 (9/10)
Location, service, gated underground parking, and freebies
What could be improved: Parking is expensive.Black from Canada – 8 May 2025 (9/10)
My husband and I really liked that it is in the heart of downtown Seattle, making it accessible to the places we wanted to visit.
Morgan from United States – 5 May 2025 (8/10)
The watertap in the lobby near the entrance is a nice touch. USB-hub on the each nightstand for a generous 6 plugs by our beds.
My partner (6’2) was pleased with the shower height. We’ve been to other hotels in Seattle but never twice because the shower being too low is such a nuisance for him.
The location is in-between Pike’s Place and the Space Needle, so you can walk to one, take the monorail to the other, and then walk back at the end of your day.
What could be improved: I’m a simple person, nothing to complain about.
Do be aware that lamps need to be turned off one-by-one, no fancy all lights turn off when you leave key card control here.Robin from United States – 2 May 2025 (9/10)
Super convenient for cruise ship access, very comfortable and clean and the staff is incredible! Added bonuses like water, cookies drinks passes etc were a very nice touch!
What could be improved: Not easily accessible from link lines-5 or so blocks from nearest stop …without luggage would’ve been not as bad , and the bar was not open, not sure of the hours if it is open anytimeJulia from United States – 1 May 2025 (9/10)
Very hospitable and tailored to customer needs! Bedding was like being on a cloud!
Khrysti from United States – 13 April 2025 (9/10)
Very clean, friendly staff, complimentary drink upon arrival, comfiest duvets ever, great location, and everything pineapple themed!! There was also a nice game room in the lobby and loved that it felt safe because you needed key card to get to rooms via elevator and to enter hotel in the evening.
Andrea from New Zealand – 8 April 2025 (8/10)
Excellent location. Walkable to Seattle center and pike place and pioneer square. Loved the free drink on arrival and water station and bath robes
Staff gave great restaurant recommendations.
What could be improved: Didn’t love the unusual bedding set up.Keren from United States – 27 March 2025 (9/10)
Great Location, short walk to central location and many restaurants.
Very comfortable beds. The room was quiet, clean and spacious. Coffee and cookies on the afternoon was nice.
What could be improved: We didn’t like that the restroom have sliding door. I would be happy if they provided the coffee and the cookies in the morning instead of the afternoon.Sara from United States – 23 March 2025 (8/10)
Quiet (we were on the 5th floor), no street noise except occasional sirens.
Comfortable.beds, good water pressure in shower.
Convenient location, able to walk to Space Needle, Pop Culture Museum, and many restaurants.
What could be improved: Surprise fees. When I checked in they mentioned parking would be an additional $52/night which was fine since that’s optional. But when I went to check out, they also tried to charge a $25/night "amenities " fee which had not been mentioned up to that point either on the Booking.com reservation or during checkin. There really aren’t any big amenities, no pool or spa. We did get a mini-fridge in our room after requesting one. There is a coffee shop open some mornings (not every morning) in the lobby that we got 4 drink tickets for. I don’t think that’s really worth $25/day. The staff member said he could waive one night’s fee, but ended up waiving the whole thing because there was some other mixup with the dates of our reservation that they blamed on Booking.com.
I am familiar with resort/amenity fees, but every time I use Booking.com they are shown to me before I confirm the reservation. Some travelers are going to be hit hard by a surprise additional fee at checkout time, and that’s why I’m making note of this.
