Staypineapple, Watertown Hotel, University District Seattle Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Staypineapple, Watertown Hotel, University District Seattle, you immediately notice the playful pineapple theme — and honestly, it works better than you’d expect. This three-star boutique property sits right in the heart of the University District, and there’s something refreshingly unpretentious about the whole place. The lobby has this warm, welcoming vibe that feels more like a friend’s well-designed living room than a typical hotel entrance. The attention to detail throughout the property creates an inviting atmosphere that sets it apart from standard accommodations.
Location & Neighborhood
The location on Roosevelt Way Northeast is actually perfect if you want to experience Seattle beyond the typical tourist spots. You’re walking distance from the University of Washington campus, which means great coffee shops, bookstores, and that college town energy. The Ave (University Way) is just a few blocks over with its eclectic mix of vintage shops and casual eateries. What I love is that you can easily hop on the light rail at the nearby U District station and be downtown in about 15 minutes — couples especially seem to appreciate having both the quieter neighborhood feel and easy city access. This balance makes it an ideal base for exploring the region.
The Rooms
The beds here are genuinely comfortable — I mean, you know how hotel marketing always claims great sleep, but this place actually delivers. The rooms have a clean, modern design with pops of that signature pineapple yellow that somehow doesn’t feel gimmicky. Everything’s well-maintained and thoughtfully laid out, though don’t expect tons of space (this is Seattle, after all). The bathrooms are compact but functional, and you’ll find those little touches that show someone actually thought about what travelers need. Each room is equipped with quality furnishings and practical amenities.
Practical Perks
One thing that sets this place apart is the genuine attention to guest comfort without the fuss. There’s parking available on-site, which honestly is a huge relief in this part of the city where street parking can be a nightmare. The staff tends to be helpful without being overly chatty, and they actually know the neighborhood well enough to give solid recommendations. You’ll also find a small fitness area and a business center that’s perfectly adequate for basic needs. These amenities enhance your stay without unnecessary complications.
Why Guests Love It
What really makes Staypineapple work is that it feels authentic to Seattle — quirky but not trying too hard, comfortable without being fancy. The University District location gives you a real sense of the city’s character, and you’re close enough to everything that matters without paying downtown prices. Recent guests consistently rave about the location and those beds, and after staying here, I get why the ratings are so strong. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’ve discovered something good rather than just booked another generic hotel. The overall experience reflects genuine hospitality and thoughtful design.
Apartments in Seattle suit remote teams with lofted work nooks, fiber Wi-Fi, and leafy courtyard lounges.

We loved the location and room, it has so much room and a great layout. We brought our dog and they gave us a dog bed, potty bags with holder, dog treats and a sign to hang if we left the pet in the room!

It was very clean. Loved the robes in the room. That was extra.
What could be improved: We did not expect the cost of parking to be so high and thus did not pick up our rental car until the next day.Amina from United States – 11 April 2025 (8/10)
We booked this hotel last minute, it was close to where we had an appointment, it was a bit expensive compared to what it has to offer.

Comfort, quiet, nice bed.
What could be improved: Using my netflix was a waste of time. Was able to log in but programs kept buffering. Ordered a breakfast sandwich at the café, and it was tasteless, overcooked and tough to chew.Malia from United States – 2 March 2025 (9/10)
Everything was smooth from check in, to complimentary drinks, cute bedrooms and amenities, etc. The staff was wonderful and so kind.
