The Charter Hotel Seattle, Curio Collection By Hilton Overview
First Impressions
Walking into The Charter Hotel Seattle, Curio Collection By Hilton, you immediately get that “this is different” feeling. The lobby has this sophisticated urban vibe that feels distinctly Seattle without being too obvious about it — no overboard coffee bean motifs here, thankfully. What struck me right away was how the four-star property manages to feel both polished and approachable, which honestly isn’t always easy to pull off in the downtown core.
Prime Downtown Position
The location on 2nd Avenue is pretty much perfect if you want to be in the thick of things. You’re literally steps from Pike Place Market (I mean, you can smell the fish from certain floors), and the waterfront is just a quick downhill walk. What I really appreciated was being able to walk to most of the major attractions without dealing with Seattle’s notorious traffic. The couples who stay here clearly get it — there’s something romantic about having the city right at your doorstep, especially when you can stroll to dinner spots in Belltown or catch a ferry to the islands on a whim.
The Room Experience
My room had these floor-to-ceiling windows that frame the city beautifully, and the design strikes this nice balance between modern comfort and local character. The beds are seriously comfortable — you know how some hotel beds feel too soft or too firm? These hit that sweet spot. What I found practical was the workspace setup, which actually works if you need to get some business done, and the bathroom amenities were a step above what you’d typically expect.
Breakfast and Dining
The breakfast situation here is actually pretty impressive, especially if you have dietary restrictions. They’ve got vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options that don’t feel like afterthoughts — the vegan choices were genuinely tasty, not just “healthy.” The American classics are done well too, and I appreciated that they source locally when possible. There’s also a restaurant on-site that’s worth checking out for dinner, though honestly, with all the incredible dining options within walking distance, you might want to explore the neighborhood too.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets this place apart is how it nails the fundamentals while giving you that authentic Seattle experience. The private parking is a genuine blessing in this part of downtown — trust me, you don’t want to be circling blocks looking for street parking after a long day of sightseeing. The staff seems to actually know the city well, so their recommendations tend to be spot-on rather than generic tourist traps. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re staying somewhere special without the pretentiousness that sometimes comes with downtown hotels. Plus, that location score of 9.3 isn’t just a number — you really do feel connected to everything Seattle has to offer from here.

fitness center was clean and well equipped.

We stayed 4 days and went out the first three nights but not the last as we had needed a 0600 taxi for our trip to SEATAC as we had issues with the Air Canada Online Check-in program. We went out for dinner at Askar’s, Pike Place and a Trader Joe outlet well south of the Museum of Flight.
The two breakfasts we had at the restaurant were great (as were the waitstaff), as were the Reception, Security, Maintenance and Taxi Management staff as we were completely out of our depth in Seattle. Every request for assistance was taken seriously and we appreciated the timely and accurate advise provided by them all.

What could be improved: Food at the rooftop bar.Kevin from United States – 4 May 2025 (9/10)
The hotel was in a great location near and within walking distance of Pike’s Market and many restaurants. The hotel front desk was friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and clean.
What could be improved: I dropped off my daughter and luggage and was in a loading/unloading zone, I was looking for parking garage on my phone when the valet asked me to move. He was only doing his job, but I felt he was a little rude and I hadn’t been there more than a minute. I was also in the loading/unloading zone, not the valet area.Connie from United States – 27 April 2025 (9/10)
Clean, modern and very comfortable room. Great rooftop bar. Friendly staff. Attached bar/restaurant. Excellent location.
What could be improved: Wish it was less expensive, but was worth the money.Beverly from United States – 21 April 2025 (8/10)
