The name isn’t just marketing fluff either; you actually get those water views they’re promising, which is refreshing when so many places oversell their scenery. Located on Rainier Avenue South, it’s got this residential feel that makes you forget you’re staying at a hotel.

The location is honestly one of the strongest selling points here — recent guests rated it a solid 9.5, and I can see why. You’re far enough from the downtown chaos to actually relax, but close enough that getting into the city isn’t a hassle. What I really appreciated was the free private parking right on site, which anyone who’s tried to park in Seattle will tell you is basically gold. The Rainier Avenue area has this authentic Seattle character that tourists don’t always get to experience, with local coffee shops and neighborhood spots that feel genuinely lived-in.

The Room Experience

My room was clean and comfortable — nothing fancy, but everything worked exactly as it should. The water views from the window were actually pretty spectacular, especially in the morning when the light hits just right. I mean, for a three-star place, they’ve really nailed the basics without trying to be something they’re not. The space felt more like staying in someone’s well-maintained guest room than a typical hotel, which some people love and others might find too low-key.

What Sets It Apart

Here’s the thing that really impressed me — the attention to detail for a property at this price point. Everything felt thoughtfully maintained, and you can tell someone actually cares about the guest experience. The 9.7 rating isn’t just a fluke; it’s earned through consistent quality rather than flashy amenities. The staff (well, the few I interacted with) seemed to genuinely know the area and could point you toward local spots that aren’t just the usual tourist traps.

Couples especially seem to gravitate toward this place, and after staying here, I totally get it. There’s something romantic about those water views and the quieter neighborhood setting that makes it perfect for a Seattle getaway without the downtown hotel scene. It’s the kind of place where you can actually have a conversation on the phone without traffic noise, or sit by the window with coffee and plan your day without feeling rushed.   Everything was wonderful, spacious, and very clean. There was even a bottle of white wine and an assortment of snacks put out by the host.
  
  What could be improved: The painting in the bedroom was hanging with the wrong side up, not a bad thing but strange.

  We were already expected when we arrived at the holiday flat, besides the fact that we arrived two hours earlier as announced. The host gave us a brief description of all facilities. Additionally we found coffee and some snacks in the kitchen. The flat had all the facilities as we could imagine – coffee machine, toaster, a big fridge with icecube producer, microwave, a big flat screen TV and even a laundry. We also had a seperate parking space and a terrace with a comfortable couch. The rooms were perfect for our 4 headed family.
  The host were very friendly and answered all questions in short time – including a self-induced power outage. He also prepared an overview about places of interests in the environment.

  Very nice place, with everything you need for a stay. Kitchen well equipped, BBQ was great, outdoor firepit. Lots of towels, extra bankets if needed, toiletries. I think Ray thought of just about everything! Location great…easy to get to grocery stores, and the metro station is only a couple of miles away.

  We LOVE that the host has the basic needs for that ALL important first night: snacks and wine 🙂 plus coffee or tea for the next morning. There is a desk in the bedroom and small rugs on both sides of the bed. The kitchen is well equipped for the cook or baker in the family.
  
  What could be improved: things that the host cannot control: it's Seattle…… so every location is expensive. this place is priced well for being JUST outside of Seattle and the traffic! Going south, its posted 25 mph up to just before the address, BUT NO ONE heeds that and will 'ride your bumper'.

  the location is great! it's close to South center mall, SeaTac airport, and both freeways: I-5 and 405.
  Ray is a wonderful host! the house is super clean and supplied with more than just the cooking basics. it's nice to arrive and have a bottle of wine waiting for us the evening of our arrival and be able to make coffee the first morning. Ray keeps a binder of local eateries, has maps of the area, and board games in the closet.
  
  What could be improved: if a small rug could be placed on the window side of the bed, it would great! The floor is cold on that side of the bed. I think adding to the binder information about recycling and where the trash goes outside.

  Central location to downtown, the airport, Tacoma and many other points of interest. Also the views of Lake Washington with access to to waters edge being right across the street.
  
  What could be improved: The street in front (Rainier Ave S.) is a medium to high traffic street, with traffic traveling at speeds over the posted speed limit, sometimes made it difficult to get out. This is out of the owners control but was our only blemish to our stay.
