Hillside in Seattle – updated and well appointed. Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Hillside in Seattle – updated and well appointed, you immediately get the sense that this three-star property takes its name seriously. The building sits on a gentle slope in South Seattle, and honestly, there’s something refreshing about finding a place that doesn’t try to be more than it is — just a really solid, well-maintained hotel that clearly cares about the details. The lobby feels fresh and modern without being sterile, and I noticed right away how clean everything looked.
Location & Getting Around
You know what’s great about this spot on 15th Avenue South? It’s far enough from the downtown chaos that you can actually find parking (and it’s free, which is basically a miracle in Seattle), but close enough that you’re not stuck in the middle of nowhere. The area has this authentic neighborhood feel — you’ll see locals walking their dogs and grabbing coffee at the corner spots that tourists never find. I mean, couples seem to really love it here, and I can see why — it’s got that cozy, residential vibe that makes you feel like you’re staying in the real Seattle, not some sanitized tourist bubble.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was genuinely well-appointed — and I don’t just mean they threw some fancy pillows on the bed and called it a day. Everything felt thoughtfully updated, from the bathroom fixtures to the lighting that actually works for reading. The beds are comfortable (not too soft, not too firm), and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped. What impressed me most was how quiet it was — even though you’re in the city, the windows do a good job of keeping the street noise out.
Practical Perks
Here’s where this place really shines for the price point — the little things that make your stay easier. That free parking I mentioned? It’s actually on-site, so you’re not circling blocks looking for a spot or feeding meters every two hours. The staff seems to genuinely know the area well, and they’re quick to help with directions or recommendations without that rehearsed tourist-trap spiel. The whole property just runs smoothly — check-in was fast, the elevators work properly, and the Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out every five minutes like some places.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t going to be the fanciest place you’ve ever stayed, but it’s exactly what a good three-star hotel should be — clean, comfortable, and reliable. The location really is the sweet spot for exploring Seattle without dealing with downtown prices and crowds, and that 8.6 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there. It’s the kind of place where everything just works the way it’s supposed to, which honestly feels pretty special these days. If you want somewhere that delivers on its promises without any surprises (good or bad), this is your spot.

Wonderful location, well maintained apartment, good size, clean. Host Vince was welcoming and available for questions and advice. Close to restaurants and groceries. Quiet street. A great base to visit Seattle.
Kirtan from United States – 2 August 2024 (8/10)
Place was great and centrally located. It was also really clean and newly renovated. Parents loved it!
What could be improved: Send the code before hand and if there is issues reach out first and not wait for guest to contact when they arrive at property after long journey making them wait at the door for an hour.Maria from United States – 25 July 2024 (9/10)
Only 10 minutes away GREAT LOCATION
What could be improved: Noisy neighbors but that’s out of the host controlGraham from Australia – 19 May 2024 (8/10)

Close to city. Easy to get to. Fresh, clean and newly remodeled. Cozy and quiet spacious. Amenities makes you feel you’re at home.
Highly recommend for small family and friends.
What could be improved: Nothing about the place we didn’t like.
Constructive criticism:
Parking spot is a bit tight (It wasnt an issue for us at all, but can be for some rookies)
One last thing we wished for, was some cream for the coffee and/or milk frother to accommodate the nespresso coffee.Rita from Panama – 2 April 2024 (9/10)
The apartment had everything we needed and was cleaned and close to many key attractions of the area. The instructions for every detail of the house were included and very clear in the reservation instructions.
What could be improved: The security deposit was high at $1000.Tina from United States – 26 October 2023 (9/10)
Tastefully decorated and fit our needs perfectly
What could be improved: Absolutely nothingYilan from United Kingdom – 21 October 2023 (8/10)
Have almost everything we need (we have 6 people). And the place is very clean.
What could be improved: One of our neighbors was doing Karaoke at 4 am. Interestingly, she only bothered the people who lived in the main bedroom. The other two rooms weren’t affected.Stephanie from United States – 16 October 2023 (9/10)
Had everything we needed and more. Very comfortable.
